Graduation 2011!
Last Saturday was Graduation Day - we sent Grace and Walt off into the world. Graduation is always a happy and sad day, and this one was no exception. Grace joined the team at the same time I arrived - she's the first Bowdoin skier I've coached through a full 4 years. During that time, she's been an integral part of the team - the character and leadership she brought to the team won't be easily replaced. It's been a pleasure watching her develop as an athlete and a person. As for Walter, it's been a long road - for him, this day was many years in the making. He's done as much as anyone to put our program on the map these last few years, and he's set a high bar for future Bowdoin skiers to strive for. It was a real privilege to have him rejoin the team this year as a volunteer assistant as well. Both of them will be dearly missed, but I suspect that we'll be seeing them both around in the not-too-distant future. Congratulations Grace and Walt!
